It is still flooding here, but things are improving in some areas. Many of the rivers are no longer rising but it will take them a long time to fall because of 1) extremely high tides the next few days 2) continuing light rain and 3) continued snow melt.
They've opened the freeway down where I work again so there's more than one way in and out of town. I did have to drive through standing water as I came down into the Valley yesterday, but I swear to you, I could see the pavement under the water and it was only a couple inches deep. It was actually flowing across all 5 lanes so there was some nice ripple "action". I guess it wasn't really "standing"!
They've also opened two of the east/west passes but not "the big one". Still too many slides. I-5 is still flooded going south to Portland as well. The county I live in is still pretty bad on the east side. Here's a couple of shots...
This would be about 20 miles east of Seattle.
The best news is that it's stopped raining. It sprinkles every now and then, but it's a lot better than that 48 hour deluge we got.
If I didn't visit you yesterday, I'll try to catch up soon. I took a big nap last night which was not part of the plan! Have a great Friday!
