Things are a little damp around here....

I'm off to work early... it's our monthly meeting where I gather tons of food for the masses!

It's wet here. We got about 4 inches of rain yesterday... other parts of the state had anywhere from 2-9 inches. So there are floods. The flooding cut me off from one of our regular sources of meeting food yesterday, so I'm going to doubling up at one of my stops this morning. I have to cross one of the flooding rivers this morning to get to work, but I think there's one bridge that's still okay. The other way in to work is not going to work, the freeway is flooded. There's a lot of stuff flooded. Here's what it looks like down by where I work...

  Orting

The three main east/west passes are closed due to heavy rain and land slides...

Hyak

This is one of the ski slopes yesterday... right at the top of the pass. TOG and I hike near there in the summer....

Then there's the freeways...

River under I 5

This river is flooding a lot. I-5, our north/south freeway from Canada to Mexico is closed in two places, Tacoma (pictured above) and south of Olympia (pictured below)

I5

[Picture is actually of the 2007 flood in the same spot]

All Amtrak and commuter train service is out also... So there's a lot of "can't get there from here" going on.

Then there's one of our fishing spots...

Stilly

We'll see how that turns out.

I'm gonna go bundle up and hope that the one road that was still above water on my way home from work is still above water on my way back in.

I have to rush so if I didn't visit you this morning, I'll try to catch up later. Have a dry day!

Asthmagirl out!
