Glass and Terrazzo

On my field trip earlier this week... I visited the very old train station across from the Cupcake shop. It stopped being a train station in the 1980's. After going through a  detailed renovation, it became a Federal Court House. It's central Rotunda is available for weddings, proms and fund raisers however and it is lovely. I love the Terrazzo floors and Dale Chihuly has donated quite a bit of glass that is displayed year round. The Station is right next to the glass museum, and they send folks over to dust the center piece regularly.

The above shot shows the center piece and the spires above the entry door. I think it's about 86 feet to the ceiling.

This shot shows the jelly fish in the back window. The clock door leads to the courts, hence the federal  marshals just inside the door. They're very friendly.

Just to the side of the clock door, you see another display of Chihuly glass, also sea creatures.

I played with the light a little bit in this last photo. It was much darker, as I lightened, I really liked the luminosity of the Terrazzo floor. And you get a better view of the Marshals!

Time to go work on my shopping list for dinner tomorrow. I hope everyone's having a wonderful weekend!

Asthmagirl out!
