A difficult weekend
Monday, March 1, 2010 at 6:45AM
An initially recovering "Dopey" took a turn for the worse resulting in a 2am emergency vet run on Sunday morning.
All seems well now, but challenges remain in getting her to eat, drink and take her meds. To give her credit, I'd be reluctant to take on nourishment if I'd had a similar experience... particularly 2 days after I'd had my innards worked on...
Just to end on a high note... I have clean clothes this morning. And I got more than three hours sleep!
How was your weekend?
AG out!

Thanks for all your kind thoughts. Dopey is improving.
I'm up to my butt in tech issues at work.
Will post when I can.

Poor little darlin'. I hope she starts taking nourishment soon. And that you get sleep!
Poor baby. Hugs to everyone....
Ugh! I always just hate having to give meds to animals. I'd put it in a chunk of cheese once & they would immediately be on to me...
oh the poor little dear.... maybe I should send Bink out to take care of her.
Oh poor thing. Lona and I will keep or respective fingers and paws crossed for her to get better ASAP.
Poor Cassie! You have to show her who's boss (I know, I know, haha) and get those meds down her cute little throat. I hope she's back to herself soon.
When Rose got home from her thyroid treatment her tummy was very upset and she wouldnt eat ... vet recommended baby food and if she wouldnt lick it off the spoon .. well .. if you cant get your girl to lick it off the spoon, I will tell you what we had to do to get Rose back to eating ...
Eat, little baby! Hope you're feeling better really soon!
Oh no! Poor baby. My weekend was about equally filled with medical stuff. Only mine was in the mouth region ;0)
That dog is a cherub, a cherub I tell you. Something so dainty is going to require longer than most to get back to normal (whatever normal is), but as we said her personality was not located in her uterus, so she will come out strong once her little body has a chance to catch up. Encourage that personality, and it will show up. Can't wait, and hope she feels back to her old self sooner than soon.
glad the little one is improving.
