Making decisions
Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 2:33PM

It's the day before the super bowl. Last year, I cut my hair off the day before the superbowl and donated it to Locks of Love. That's what I looked like after donating my hair. I could not get my hair into a pony tail even though that was a criteria I expressed that I needed for my summer activities.
This is my hair a year later. It is long, but not long enough to donate. However, I'm still considering cuting it because last time it was long, there were consequences...

And I like the blower dryer I have now, so I don't want to do this again... But I want to donate... but I want it to be long enough to donate... but my stylist says long hair makes me look 10 years older...
My decision matrix looks like this...

Help a girl out... what do you think?
AG out!
dignity,
gah,
hair in
What's it all about?,
anxiety

You'll look mahvelous either way, and I'd help you decide except I canNOT stop laughing at the decision matrix!! HILARIOUS!
Wow! And I think I'm doing well to have a pro/con list ... a LIST ... handwritten! Look at that matrix!
I say follow your gut. You know what you *really* want to do. So do that. Either way, you have lovely hair, not all gray and kinky and frizzy, like some of us!
You are beautiful either with short or long hair, but donating would make someone else beautiful, too!
I really like your current length, maybe a couple inches shorter would be ok. I was surprised at how much hair gets rejected at Locks of Love, they actually get a lot of donations too. That's where I stand on the issue of your hair, but it is your hair so it's kinda your call.
Love You!!!
OMG. That is too difficult for me. I dread the hair stylist like I dread the dentist. And that is pretty bad. It all stems back to a bad haircut in Middle School. Good luck!
WOW! Cut it! It will do someone some good;) And a sweaty neck is the trump.
I can understand wanting to donate but you've been through a lot this year and if you need a perk up, do it. Sometimes we have to care for ourselves first.
My 2 cents?! If you are thinking about cutting it, cut it. You will feel great! Your blow dryer will thank you. The shower drain will thank you. The vacuum will thank you. Your sweaty neck will thank you. You can always grow it out for Locks of Love next you if you are so inclined.
I'm with Noble Pig. Perhaps this isn't the year to donate, but you are fabulous with it at both lengths. I hate it when hair stylists say things like that because it's usually all I remember them saying. Like the time I was told I had a large skull and uneven ears. Gimme a break! Surely all the others aren't perfect. Or maybe they are, but I don't need to hear that. Everyone always says shorter hair makes you look younger, but I don't agree. It just exposes the aging parts more!
If you cut it really short you won't have to worry about a sweaty neck or a pony tail. Life would be easy!
I have a friend who is 40 and fabulous as she likes to say and she has very short hair and it is really cute on her.
But as they say--it is your hair! Don't worry about the stylist's opinion.
