I'll take lost pictures for 300, Alex.

Over the last two years, I've become innundated with pictures I've taken. In an effort to keep things organized, I create folders as I go. Sometimes my efforts mean I don't see a picture for months.

I took this last October.

The same day I took this one.

And this one...

I'm definitely going to have to organize my pictures.

How do y'all keep yours organized?

AG out!

I don't keep my pictures well organized, for sure! I just use Picasa, which keeps them in date order and I can scan through them pretty quickly -- and worry regularly about how I've NOT backed them up as often as I should.

Well, I don't take as many pics so I don't have that problem. I just throw all the photos I upload into whatever folder corresponds with it. Birthday pics go into the Birthday folder, Hiking into the Hiking Folder. And then J gets all organized and cleans up after me.

Currently, my photos are not organized very much. I have yet to take the time to use the face recognition program on my Mac. All in good time!

I keep mine organized by date. I have a year folder with monthly sub-folders then more sub-folders for each day of photos. On the day file I add some sort of description of what it is. And so I don't forget about those photos, my screen saver is a slide show of the main photo file:)

I am anal. I download from camera to iPhoto into what Apple calls an 'event' .. then I pull pix from the 'event' into an 'album' (folder) I created .. I have many many of these albums .. cats, dogs, birds, buildings, benches, sky, trees, etc ad infinitum (there are very few pix in the etc or ad infinitum cause they arent folders/albums, ha ha ... ahem .. anyway I try to do this when I dowload otherwise I will forget and then wont be able to find what I am looking for .. and one photo can be in more than one album ... its amazing how anal I am.........

What is this word you use, "organized?"

My pics load into albums I've made.

I don't take that many pictures, so it's pretty easy to keep them organized. I separate them into folders by year and topic. For example, Snow '09, Snow '10, etc. Easy, peasy!

Oh dang. I'm jealous of Daryl's mad organizational skillz. I have folders in my download, all labeled. No clue what's in half of them. I make a new label nearly every time I download a memory card. Some have hundreds of photos, and some only one.

When I download the phone photos, those are by date. They're all in the front.

Basically, I have to go through nearly every album most of the time I'm looking for a specific photo.

Last year, pre Project 365, I did monthly folders with event folders inside. My folder structure is something like this:
My Pictures<2009<January<Trip to Virginia<Print/Web

This year, due to P365, I am going day by day:
My Pictures<2010<1.1.10<Print/Web

which is a lot more confusing because it is not related to events ;0)

organized? once upon a time I was organized. I was single with no kids then too. now the photos stay in the folder that is automatically created when I download them from the camera. If I'm feeling really productive, they might even be uploaded to flickr.
