Looking ahead

This is the view just outside of K3's surgeon's office. Practically under the monorail on 5th Ave, looking north toward the Space Needle. We went downtown today for her check up after surgery.

As the nurse was looking at K3's gums and asking her if she had been brushing the part of the gum where the implant is, K3 said with a perfectly straight face "I'm pretty much just focused on brushing the teeth I have left."

I thought I was going to die from laughing so hard. The nurse was chuckling and we had one of those 'eye contact' things over K3's head that translated into 'kids say the darndest things!'

Things are on track for the next round of surgery at this end of this month. This will be the extraction of the wisdom teeth and the next (and hopefully final) bone graft on her lower jaw bone. They asked did I want her to have anethesia for that appt... um YEAH! Knock her butt out! And refill her liquid Vicodin because I'm going to keep her pain free for the week following. I can't even imagine how porked over her mouth is going to be...

Yours in dental fortitude...

I love that photo! And I love K3, I can totally hear her saying that. I'd prefer to be knocked out for any dental procedure, but my dentist won't comply.

Porked over! Love it. The expression, not the event...And liquid vicodin? Sounds good to me!

So glad to hear that Maddie is better. I was worried about the tiny dog! Also - glad to hear things are going well for your daughter. I agree about knocking her out for the appointment - why make her deal with the pain?

Haha, love the comment. At least she's got her priorities straight! Hope the rest of the surgeries go well, and you're right the more vicodin the better 'cause why should she be in any pain if they can prevent it? At least Maddie will be around to keep her company afterwards!

Bless her heart! Diane, the light in this photo is magical ...

Did you ask the person who asked if you wanted K3 to have anethesia,if they would undergo a procedure like that w/o anethesia? Amazing.

And I hope Maddie continues to improve.

I love that kid!!

Does liquid Vicodin come in flavors. Say, cabernet or merlot?

This poor child, I feel so bad. At least she was able to crack out a good comeback.

Great picture! And what you just described is my worst nightmare. I hate dental work. K3 is my hero.
