A night in Forks

I know... Home of the "real" Twilight! I actually didn't think we'd end up in Forks. If there'd been a room available in Sekiu, we would have stayed there. Since they were booked, we had to backtrack to Forks, a trip of about 40 minutes, inland from the coast.

TOG is not a Twilighter. He hasn't read the books or seen the first movie, but he knew it was set here and he was amused and tolerant of my manic camera shots as we drove through town. Although I believe he did remind me once or twice that I really ought to be looking for a hotel room if I didn't want to sleep in the truck or drive back to Port Angeles!

So... here's some of the sights...

Dazzled by Twilight... there's a second store in Port Angeles that is supposedly near the restaurant that Bella and Edward ate at...

They did not seem to be as busy as the "Dazzled store"...

Bella's dad was no where in sight!

I hear some of the hotels have themed "Twilight rooms" although I cannot confirm this!

We ended up staying at this tiny place that only took cash. I do not kid when I say we got the last room in forks. They had 7 rooms, we got room 7. There was this old part of the motel across from us....

...which was no longer in service (thank goodness!). You can see the gap between that and the room we had...

So the next morning, TOG is out loading the truck about a quarter to five (am) and I am finishing getting everything packed in the room so we can drive back to Sekiu. He comes in and says "Your Twilight stuff is spooking the s**t out of me". He sounds semi serious so I turn and look at him. In a somewhat accusatory tone he notes that he saw a shadow in the gap between the buildings and then... it was gone. I ponder for a moment and then ask "was it upright or on all fours?"

He gave me a disgusted look and told me to shag my butt out the door (in so many words). And honey, if I got the story wrong, let me know. I'm open to corrections!

I guess you never know what you will see when you spend the night in Forks!

AG out!

PS~ Loving the humidity! There is talk of Seattle breaking our 100 degree record today or tomorrow. Woot!
