This week in Seattle, an animal rights group called for a veterinarian convention to boycott Pike Place Market because the seafood shop there is being disrespectful of it's fish by tossing them...
Yes... it's true. See for yourself...
Yes. The employees toss the DEAD fish back and forth to engage the crowd. And then they play with the onlookers by tossing a fake fish out into the crowd. How despicable.
Clearly this abuse of dead fish must stop.
What is next? Putting holiday outfits on little dogs? Wearing socks with sandals? Drinking see-thru beer?
Ghastly! All of it!

Only in Seattle .. which brings me to my protest .. please take back your weather. NY is NOT Seattle. WE here do not have gills, we cannot continue to live in this wet messy air clogging weather ... or else we will all come out there, do not make us come out there and toss a dead fish!
We are sorry you have our weather. Please stop watching the weather reports. Assume it will rain. Take your umbrella. Wear boots. Stop looking at the sky. Eventually it will get tired of raining on prepared citizens and you'll have your sunny weather back.
We'll still be throwing fish (hopefully) like the knuckle dragging heathens we are.
Are you kidding me?! People don't have anything else better to "protest" against? I mean really.
Are you kidding me??? My kids loved that place! We stayed at The Inn at the Market--a fantastic place!
That's hilarious. Damn you Pike Place and your dead fish abuse!
Bwahaha! Personally, I'd MUCH rather see them boycott people who wear socks with sandals. Send them to Florida to boycott all those old people from NYC and NJ and see how long they last!
Oh, pleeeezzzzeeee! Give me a break...
I saw that on the news and just thought, "WTF", I don't get it. How do they know dead fish don't think flying through the air is fun, they don't complain about it.
Truly, that is the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard of. Fish market workers have been throwing dead fish since the beginning of time, lol. I say they need to pick a WORTHWHILE CAUSE and adopt it. This clearly isn't it.
Now I want some thrown dead fish for dinner.
I just found your blog...having lived in Oregon for 16 years (until '04) and having visited Seattle and the Market...when my husband told me that the animal rights group was going after the fish stand, I just couldn't believe it! As far as I could see on my visits, the only fish being tossed is the fish that someone has selected to buy...if they didn't want their fish being tossed, they wouldn't be buying it there! HELLO?! Are they coming into our homes next to monitor what we do to our raw meat, chicken??
