Brilliant

He was an amazing endodontist. He got the terror thing and talked to me through the whole thing... actually making me laugh behind the rubber dam a few times! Instead of trying to numb my tooth, he went to the back and numbed my whole jaw. I think it helped that I took a Vicodin before I went... All in all, definitely one of my better experiences. My jaw is still sore, and I've developed quite a bit of swelling which I'm hoping will go away soon.

I can't wait to start feeling better and catch up with y'all. Hopefully tonight.

AG out!

PS~ Is it wrong that I wished I'd brought my camera in with me?

SO SO glad to hear it was successful and the doctor did a good job for you. Root canals can be scary things, I know I started crying when I had to get one. Glad this one was relatively painless.

Next time try not using the rubber dam. The dentist uses it mainly for their own comfort. They don't have to be as diligent in suctioning out the "bits". I've always dreaded having the rubber dam put on as I found it very uncomfortable and painful. When I mentioned that to my dentist, she immediately put a note in my file that I didn't have to have the rubber dam. I have had plenty of work done in my mouth since then without the rubber dam (even several root canals and crowns) and the dental experience is much more "enjoyable". They do have to suction out your mouth more, though.

Glad to know that you are doing okay and that the whole procedure wasn't too bad! You found a good doctor!
