He's back!

Last year, I wrote a post about this guy because I liked his show. It made me think about cooking in a different way. The show itself acknowledged that disaster did indeed lurk around every corner and even the most proficient of cooks (which I am not) was at risk of public humilations! I appreciated the fact that he never took success for granted, and that he was secretly thrilled each time he successfully pulled off another caper! Who am I talking about? This guy here...

Chef Robert Irvine! And the Show?

I love Dinner Impossible. Yes, yes....I know Robert exagerated his resume and they booted him and brought Micheal Symon in, (who's an awesome chef) but the show lost it's ooomph. Chef Symon lacks that somethin' somethin' that keeps me tuned into the show. Maybe it's Chef Irvine's openness... disaster is lurking behind every pot and everyone knows it? Maybe it's his ability to throw together a menu? Maybe it's watching a good manager wrangle people and ingredients into a symphony of culinary excellence? Maybe it's his deep fried peanut butter and jelly dough-nuts?

Whatever the reason, he's back with six new episodes and I'm excited! I'm on board! I can't wait until Wednesday night. Chef Irvine will tide me over until my ultimate favorite show starts next week...

Hi. My name is Asthmagirl and I'm a food nerd.

LOL...I haven't seen this one. I never used to watch the food shows, cuz I'm a big girl and I struggle with my weight so much and I though.."why tempt myself" by thinking of food all the time, but now we watch a LOT of the food network...it's all DH and if he's interested in ANYTHING but sports I encourage it. We are LOVING Man Vs Food lately which is actually on the travel channel I think...we've even gone to a restraunt or two that he's featured on his show and have more on our schedule to visit...hows' that for food geekiness? LOL Also the Showdown with Bobby Flay...been watching that one quite a bit too...I'm going to do a post next week when I get home on one of the throwdown restraunts we went to. It was awsome! I guess I'm goin to have to check this guy out too....sigh....time to hit the gym.....LOLStacie

I'm with Stacie on the whole "why tempt myself" attitude, so I don't watch the Food Network much. If Emma's watching I'll sit for a few and watch with her, but I don't watch on purpose. So I've never heard of this chef or the show. I'll have to ask Emma, she might like it.

Sometimes she comes upstairs and says something really random like..."We should make biscuits and gravy". I know she's been watching Paula on the Food Network, hahaha.

I was so excited when I saw he was back. I can't wait to see him again! And, I'm a Food Network dork, too. All the "Challenges", "Chopped", "Throwdown with Bobby Flay"...someone stop me I can't watch all of them. Oh yeah, and "ACe of Cakes". Can't forget that! And "Diners, Drive ins and Dives". Ok, I'll stop listing shows now.

Must check that out. I love Gordon Ramsey's two shows. And what is your ultimate favorite show? If you've told us before, my feeble little brain can't remember.

Will he be showing his forearms? Because they are quite impressive.

I'm w/ Noble. There is something delicious about the guy, & from the previews, his "jerk" gene has been toned down quite a bit. He just exudes...something. Even tho I don't like shows w/ contrived drama (& even the Food Network "works" it a little too much on some shows), I will probably have to tune in at least once to drool.

I never ever ever cook .. never .. but I love love love watching cooking shows and even on occasion QVC when they are selling cooking stuff .. it fascinates me the way Home Depot gets to men .. or Staples gets to those zany folk who like office/school supplies
